Dearborn Community Chorus looking for singers for the start of the new season – Press and guide

Close your eyes and imagine singing beautiful, nostalgic holiday music with over 100 friends and a full symphony orchestra. You can keep imagining that or you can join the Dearborn Community Chorus (DCC) this fall and experience it.

DCC is a non-auditioning choir that would love for you to join.

Experience levels range from novice to seasoned musician.

The choir will provide you with the level of instruction you need to succeed. All levels of singers will learn, be challenged and have fun.

The choir serves the Dearborn community throughout the year with community performances. The highlight is the 2022 Holiday Choral Festival, which includes DCC joining Dearborn-based Vanguard Voices and the FULL 54-member Dearborn Symphony! They will perform “The Many Moods of Christmas”, composed of eighteen Christmas carols grouped into four suites. The songs were arranged for chorus and orchestra by acclaimed Broadway composer/arranger Robert Russell Bennett. Steven H. Olsen and G. Kevin Dewey will conduct their respective backing vocals with orchestra, with Olsen conducting the combined backing vocals for the final sequel. The Festival will take place on Saturday, December 10 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn.

Rehearsals begin September 13 and will be held every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in Room F-113 (Choir Room), MacKenzie Fine Arts Center (Building F), Henry Ford College, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn, MI 48128. The first three rehearsals are open without obligation. Come see what CDC is and get all your questions answered.
