For Father’s Day, Molly Tuttle performs “Grass Valley” with her father Jack Tuttle

To celebrate Father’s Day, talented guitarist Molly Tuttle has released a live performance video of herself performing her song “Grass Valley” with her dad, Jack Tuttle.

The song is taken from Tuttle’s latest album, twisted tree. The song, which fans can check out below, is about going to the annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival with his dad in California.

Molly said: “My dad took me to the Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, California when I was 10 and it changed my life. It was my first time to a music festival and the songs I heard on stage and stuck in the campsite stayed with me for years. When I was writing the Crooked Tree songs, I kept coming back to those early musical memories. I decided to close my album with a song about Grass Valley to give context to the music I’m making now. I hope you enjoy this special version of “Grass Valley” that I filmed with my dad! Happy Father’s Day weekend!”

Tuttle, who grew up in Northern California and later moved to Nashville, added of her recent bluegrass album, Crooked Tree: “I always knew I wanted to make a bluegrass record one day. Once I started writing, everything went so smoothly: sometimes I felt an internal pressure to find a sound that no one had heard before, but this time my intention was simply to make a album that reflects the music that has been passed down from generation to generation in my family. I found a way to do that by writing songs that fit who I am, and it really helped me grow as a songwriter.
