Longship Group acquires Lawton Group


September 23, 2022 – Longship Group, a workforce consulting and solutions company, has acquired Lawton Group, a San Diego, CA-based healthcare and office recruitment company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Lawton Group’s new chief operating officer will be Katherine Sullivan of the Longship Group’s healthcare division. “With Lawton Group’s previous 35 years of exceptional service in Southern California, I look forward to seeing the positive impact this acquisition will have for the approximately 30,000 people and 1,000 customers that Lawton Group has supported with a rewarding job over the years.” said Mrs. Sullivan.

The acquisition introduces a new service to Longship Group’s suite of healthcare product offerings by providing non-clinical healthcare solutions. “With Katherine’s leadership and the support of a seasoned management team, this expansion of Longship Healthcare is well equipped to grow and achieve its short and long-term ambitions,” said Zack Collier, CEO.

Longship Group is a workforce solutions company with an acquisition-driven growth model. The Company provides workforce solutions to its clients in various operating divisions, such as contingent staffing, HR consulting, executive search and other miscellaneous workforce solutions.

Recent acquisition

Longship Group recently completed its acquisition of healthcare staffing company CareStaf. This most recent acquisition further expands Longship Group’s range of product offerings in the healthcare workforce, including the introduction into the home healthcare market.

In line with Longship Group’s expanded offerings and strategic growth, Stacy White has been promoted to President of the CareStaf Division. Having supported CareStaf since the company’s inception in 1991 and helped grow it to $15 million in annual revenue, Ms. White will lead all revenue operations within the division. “With over 25 years of industry experience, I couldn’t be happier to join Longship Group’s bold and innovative team of thought leaders,” said Ms. White.

Greenwich, Connecticut-based Hunt Scanlon Ventures facilitated the introduction and transaction between the two organizations. “This is a strategic acquisition that will significantly enrich our business offering in a key area that touches every customer we serve,” said Aileen Alexander, CEO of Diversified Search Group. “Cybersecurity, data privacy and resilience are top priorities for boards and senior management across all sectors of our economy.

Excel Sports Management, an industry-leading sports agency, has agreed to acquire sports and entertainment executive search firm Nolan Partners. London-based Nolan Partners will continue to be led by Managing Director Paul Nolan and Chairman Chad Biagini while operating as a new vertical within Excel’s properties division. Primarily focused on executive and board positions, Nolan Partners works globally with clients ranging from sports teams, governing bodies, professional leagues, venues, agencies, broadcasters and other sports companies. The firm also has a performance practice which focuses on the placement of general managers/athletic directors, sports physicians, sports scientists and recruitment specialists.

True, a global executive talent management platform based in Haddonfield, New Jersey, has acquired climate technology and sustainability executive search firm Hobbs & Towne, Inc. (HTI). Led by Andy Towne and Bob Hobbs, HTI will continue to serve its customers and deliver a greater range of capabilities under True. Admittedly, one of the fastest growing search companies of the past decade, reported global revenues of $116.5 million last year. The company ranked #7 in the Hunt Scanlon Top 25. Hobbs & Towne ranked #24 and was crowned the fastest growing research company of the year, posting a growth rate of 59%.

ZRG Partners, a leading research firm backed by private equity firm RFE Investment Partners, has acquired boutique strategy consulting firm Brimstone Consulting Group LLC. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. “The complementary nature of our business has made Brimstone an obvious partner for ZRG as we continue to expand our portfolio of talent advisory solutions,” said Larry Hartmann, CEO of ZRG. “Further ensuring a new CEO succeeds with Brimstone’s proven process will create a new paradigm for CEO transitions.”
