Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment company, acquired all North American rights to the feature documentary from Ley Line Entertainment Brian Wilson: long road promised. The film premiered to rave reviews at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. Screen Media plans to release the film in theaters and on VOD in November.

The deeply personal documentary finds the legendary songwriter, songwriter and producer reminiscing and reflecting with his longtime friend and Rolling Stone editor Jason Fine. With Jason at the wheel and Wilson selecting the music, the two revisit many of the time periods and places that shaped Wilson’s life. Admirers and those close to him, including Al Jardine, Don Was, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Nick Jonas, Jim James, Jakob Dylan, Gustavo Dudamel and Taylor Hawkins, hang over him.

Punctuated by memorable sequences of concerts, studios and interviews, and adorned with the original song by Brian Wilson and Jim James “Right Where I Belong”, recorded especially for the film, this entertaining, informative and at times heartbreaking road trip offers both a first-hand, intimate look into the story-rich life of Wilson and further inspiration for all who have been touched by his music.
