There are no happy campers today as it has been confirmed that Tyler, Camp Creator Flog Gnaw will not be returning in 2022.

“It’s really not that deep,” assured Chris Clancy, the manager of the alt-hip hop and neo-soul artist. Billboard. “Tyler has been touring all year and has been busy with a number of projects. Reading the tea leaves and what’s happening with festivals coming out of the pandemic, we thought it would be best to come back the next year, plans are said to be in place for the festival to return in 2023.

Held annually since its inception in the fall of 2012, Camp Flog Gnaw was last held at Dodger’s Stadium in 2019, where Solange, FKA twigs, Brockhampton, Thundercat, Summer Walker and more donned the three stages of the festival. Drake also came out as a surprise headliner, but 20 minutes into his set he was booed offstage as fans anticipated an appearance from Frank Ocean.

Shocked by the fan display, Tyler, the creator, took to Twitter to express his disappointment, writing in all caps: “I THOUGHT THE SETUP BY ONE OF THE GREATEST ARTISTS ON THE FUCK PLANET AT A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE! BUT REVERSED LIL TONE DEAD KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DRAWN SOME CREATED A NARRATIVE IN THEIR HEADS AND ACT LIKE ASSHOLES WHEN IT DIDN’T HAPPEN AND I DON’T FUCK WITH IT.

He continued his Twitter tirade with, “MOST EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GOOD TIME, THESE SHITS IN THE FRONT AREA WAS THE ONE WHO WAS MAD RUDE, WHICH, I CAN SEE WHY, BUT, NAH, FUCK THAT, YALL REPRESENTED ME AND FLOG TO MY GUEST AND MADE US LOOK SOOO AUTHORIZED AND TRASH.

Tyler released his latest album, the experimental rap mixtape, Call me if you get lost, last summer. The album won him a Grammy that year. He toured to support the record with a North American trek that began in February 2022.
